Greenplanet Years in the Industry

2021

Bluestone Trading LLC is a pioneering recycling company operating in Accra and Abidjan. Established in 2021, during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, our company was born out of the need for sustainable waste management solutions in Ghana. We recognized the growing environmental concerns and the impact of waste generated by oil processing manufacturers, restaurants, and large oil-using industries. With a strong commitment to sustainability, we embarked on a mission to collect and repurpose organic waste materials, providing alternative sources of biodiesel, biogas, animal feed, and soap production.

The COVID-19 Pandemic and Operations in Ghana

The COVID-19 pandemic presented unprecedented challenges to communities and industries worldwide, including Ghana. As the virus spread, lockdowns and restrictions were implemented to curb its transmission, resulting in significant disruptions to businesses and daily life. Amidst these challenging circumstances, Bluestone Trading LLC saw an opportunity to address the mounting waste management issues in Accra and Abidjan while contributing to a sustainable future.

During the initial phases of our operations in 2021, we faced unique challenges related to the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic not only affected our ability to establish partnerships and networks but also posed health and safety risks for our employees and customers. However, we were determined to adapt and persevere.

With strict adherence to health protocols and safety measures, we took proactive steps to ensure the well-being of our team members and customers. We implemented robust sanitation practices, provided personal protective equipment (PPE), and established contactless collection and delivery processes to minimize the risk of transmission.

Raw Materials Produced

At Bluestone Trading LLC, we specialize in converting organic waste materials into valuable resources. Our operations focus on the following key raw materials:

  1. Biodiesel:
We collect waste oils and fats generated by oil processing manufacturers and refine them into biodiesel, a renewable and environmentally friendly fuel alternative to traditional diesel. By reducing reliance on fossil fuels, we contribute to mitigating climate change and promoting a greener economy.

  2. Biogas:
Through the anaerobic digestion process, we transform organic waste such as food scraps into biogas. This renewable energy source can be utilized for cooking, heating, and electricity generation, reducing dependence on non-renewable energy and minimizing greenhouse gas emissions.

  3. Animal Feed:
Our innovative processes enable us to produce high-quality animal feed by refining organic waste materials. This reduces the environmental impact of waste generated by restaurants and oil-using industries while supporting sustainable livestock farming practices.

  4. Soap Production:
We extract valuable components from organic waste to produce eco-friendly soaps. By utilizing waste materials in soap production, we minimize the consumption of virgin resources, promote biodegradability, and contribute to a circular economy.

The Process of Collecting Waste: Collection, Refining, and Distribution

Our waste collection process involves establishing strategic partnerships with oil processing manufacturers, restaurants, and large oil-using industries in Accra and Abidjan. Through these partnerships, we create a network that enables the efficient collection of organic waste materials.

  1. Collection:
We work in close collaboration with oil processing manufacturers, restaurants, and large oil-using industries to collect their organic waste materials. Our dedicated collection teams, equipped with specialized vehicles, ensure timely and reliable pickup while adhering to strict health and safety guidelines.
  1. Refining:
Upon collection, the organic waste materials undergo a meticulous refining process at our state-of-the-art facilities. Through advanced techniques, we separate impurities and extract valuable components such as oil, fats, and other organic matter. This ensures the production of high-quality end products.

  2. Distribution:
After refining, the processed materials are distributed to various clients and industries across the globe; particularly Germany, Netherlands and the USA, where they can be utilized for biodiesel production, biogas generation, animal feed, and soap production. Our extensive distribution network ensures efficient and effective resource allocation.

Partnerships

Bluestone Trading LLC believes in the power of collaboration and actively seeks partnerships with like-minded organizations and institutions.

We work closely with:

  1. Oil Processing Manufacturers:
We collaborate with oil processing manufacturers to collect their waste oils and fats, providing them with a sustainable waste management solution while ensuring a steady supply of raw materials for our biodiesel production.

  2. Restaurants:
We partner with restaurants to collect their food waste, diverting it from landfills and transforming it into valuable resources such as biogas and animal feed. Our partnerships help restaurants reduce their environmental footprint and contribute to a circular economy.

  3. Big Oil-Using Industries:
By partnering with large oil-using industries, we collect their organic waste materials and repurpose them into valuable resources. Our collaborations with these industries contribute to their sustainability goals while reducing waste and promoting responsible resource utilization.
